Ceremony Music
When choosing ceremony music, normally there are 4 specific songs.
1. Seating of Mothers, Grandmothers and/or honor attendants.
2. Entrance of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, groom and officiant.
3. Entrance of the bride.
4. Exit of the couple after they are married.
There can also be songs played for lighting of a unity candle or a backing track if someone is singing during the ceremony. These can certainly be added and included along with anything else you desire, they are just optional. The four songs listed above are the ones played at almost every wedding ceremony.
You can choose the traditional classical music like the ones listed above, or you may want to choose more popular modern songs. Over the years we have played many different types of ceremony music depending on that particular couple’s preference.
When a non-traditional song is chosen, many times it is for the recessional. Some of the songs that we have played for recessionals in the past include, “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves, “How Sweet it is to be Loved by You”, by James Taylor “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles, “This Will Be An Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole and many other similar songs.
Choosing non-traditional music is one step you can take to completely customize your wedding day. If this is something you choose to do, we are happy to offer suggestions and help you choose custom music as well as find different versions of songs and help you find the one that works best for you.
